For the 7th day of our Advent Calendar we would like to introduce you to our intern: the 20-year old Merel van Beekhoven. She follows the education Communication and Multimedia design in Utrecht (the Netherlands). The thing she loves most? To create, and to get people intruded by her visualized stories.
Merel: ‘I noticed that I like storytelling more and more since I started to work with it during my internship with Lost in Europe. To bring a story and a visualization together is very complex but very fun. I hope to dive into visualized storytelling more during the last year of my education. For now, I really enjoy the internship and the people who work around here.’
Merel is currently working on a big investigation by Lost in Europe, called ‘Migrant Boatdrivers in the Dock’, which is sponsored by IJ4EU. You will see the end result later on in the Advent Calendar. ‘I will give you a little sneak peak: in this visualized story we dive into the court procedures (young) migrants experience.’
