Almost all victims of Essex tragedy have been in the Netherlands

38 of the 39 fatal Vietnamese victims of the Essex refrigerated truck tragedy in England were 'known in the Netherlands'. This is according to the annual report of the Belgian Federal Migration Centre Myria, published today. The report included quotes from the 17-year-old Tran Ngoc Hieu, one of the boys whom Argos and Lost in Europe discovered had gone missing from the protected shelter in Limburg just before his death. Hieu told Dutch police about guards with automatic weapons, working on cannabis plantations, and how after he went to the police in Ukraine he was then taken back to the smugglers' premises.
