Since the beginning of Israel's genocide in Gaza, the lives of Palestinian children have been completely disrupted. Bombings, starvation, siege and forced displacement have caused an entire generation to grow up without adequate protection and medical care. Doctors and international aid organisations have been warning for months about the lasting damage to children's health, but the violence continues.

According to the United Nations, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023, including at least 20,632 children. In September 2025, Save the Children calculated that since the start of the genocide, an average of one child has been killed every hour by Israeli troops or bombing. More than 44,000 children were injured, at least 21,000 of whom were permanently disabled. Save the Children states that 2% of all children in Gaza have been killed in the past two years and three months.

Children are also not safe from Israeli violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Since October 2023, at least 225 Palestinian children have been killed there, including 54 children in 2025 alone. Thousands of others have been injured.
