The number of incidents of "self-destructive behavior" among young asylum seekers over the past few years has increased alarmingly. Especially asylum children who traveled to the Netherlands unaccompanied, suffer from above-average levels of stress, trauma and suicidal thoughts. Sufficient help is lacking, say youth doctors and therapists. 'The will is there, but the resources are missing.
