Journalists received Training on Trauma given by psychologist Kate Porterfield

Last month we invited no other than Dr. Kate Porterfield, psychologist at the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture and founding staff member of the Journalist Trauma Support Network, an initiative at the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University. The training discussed the biopsychosocial impact of trauma on individuals and the impact of migrant/refugee trauma that our journalists often work with.
