Join us for an engaging workshop that delves into the complexities of “climate migrants,” a term that frequently appears in public discourse but is often misunderstood. This session will provide valuable insights into climate-induced migration through exploring key legal concepts, terminologies and debunking prevalent myths. The session will be led by experts, including Dr. David Durand-Delacre, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Environment and Human Security at United Nations University, along with Amali Tower, founder & executive director at Climate Refugees and Ioana Vrăbiescu, Senior Assistant Professor at the VU Amsterdam. They will help journalists unpack the complexities of climate migration, and develop an understanding of the foundational concepts that link climate change and migration. Award-winning journalist Ismail Einashe will moderate the session.
This workshop series is supported by Journalismfund Europe, Columbian Paris Global Center and Open Eyes Institute.
