Many Nigerian women from Edo and Delta States are victims of sexual exploitation in France. In search of a better life, they often have no choice but to emigrate via organised crime networks, which take them hostage, impose an exorbitant debt on them and force them into prostitution to pay it off. The phenomenon is not new, it has existed for more than twenty years in France and remains absent from public debate.
