In three years more than 18,000 disappearances of unaccompanied child migrants

From 2018 to 2020, at least 18,292 disappearances of unaccompanied migrant minors from the shelters where they ended up in on their journey through Europe were reported. This is evident from figures that the research collective Lost in Europe requested from 30 European countries, both EU and non-EU countries. Chaotic registration obscures the view of the true extent of the problem.
