Roeland Termote
Roeland Termote is a reporter at the foreign desk of the Belgian newspaper De Standaard,trackingcross-border corruption, peoplesmuggling, human trafficking and, more broadly, the goings-on inCentral and Eastern Europe. Previously Roeland worked as a Central and Eastern Europe correspondent for the Dutch daily NRC Handelsblad. Together with Lost in Europe colleagues Doruntina Islamaj and Kristof Clerix, Roeland was awarded a Belfius Press Prize (the main Belgian media award) for a cross-medial investigation into the fate of unaccompanied Vietnamese minors in Belgium, focussed on labour exploitation in nail salons.
