At least 50,000 unaccompanied minor asylum seekers are missing in Europe. Mostly children from Afghanistan.

In an interview as a response to Lost in Europe's investigation with the Dutch child ombudsman, Margrite Kalverboer, is said that "we see these children as strangers, even though we should be protecting them".
